How do animals that live in cold environments deal with freezing temperatures? Find out in this week-long camp where we will explore animal adaptations that help them survive and what we’ve learned from them.

This fun-filled, hands-on camp will introduce you to animal husbandry and take you behind-the-scenes to meet the staff responsible for animal health and see how we care for the variety of animals in our collection.

The mission of the education department is to integrate conservation and an appreciation of aquatic ecosystems, with an emphasis on the Great Lakes region, into every visitor’s life through hands-on educational experiences and thought-provoking exhibits and programs.

Education Programming at the Aquarium

Education is at the core of our mission statement. We believe in education through inspiration. It is our goal to integrate conservation and an appreciation of all aquatic ecosystems into every visitor’s life through hands-on educational experiences and thought-provoking programs and exhibits. Our belief is that local and individual conservation efforts lead to global changes and prepares our participants to be better stewards of the environment.
