Listen to our Aquarists describe these remarkable birds, their care here at the Aquarium of Niagara, and the special bond they form with their caretakers. Visitors will learn about the history of the species and conservation issues affecting these intriguing animals.

Care at the Aquarium

Come visit our California sea lions and watch as these athletic animals interact with their trainers, stretching, rehearsing and going through daily husbandry routines. You'll learn how each of these activities help keep our marine mammals healthy and active.

Sea Lion Show - "Spirit of the Sea"
1:00pm, 3:30pm, 5:30pm

Captivated audiences will feel the energy and spirit of the sea, and realize that we are all part of one world connected by an incredibly strong and special bond. A customized soundtrack, composed by Bernd Gottinger from SUNY Fredonia, compliments the show with heart-pounding orchestration that captures the excitement, passion and emotion projected from the show. A dynamic visual display unfolds as the cast of human and animal performers swim, soar and dive among one another throughout the performance.

Magic Show
11:20am, 1:20pm (Monday-Saturday)

International Stars of Magic Rob and Carol Allen return to the Aquarium of Niagara for the summer season. Join us for a new show, offering new illusions, music, comedy, audience participation and the Allens’ magical pets.

Pacific Preserve Presentation
10:30pm, 4:30pm

Meet the Aquarium’s oldest marine mammals, and learn about pollution, overfishing, and predation which have an impact on seals and sea lions living in the wild. You’ll also learn about rescue, rehabilitation and release efforts that promote the conservation of marine wildlife.

Feed a Pinniped ($)
12:00pm, 2:00pm

Sea lion? Seal? What’s the difference? Here’s a clue: if you’re all ears, you’ll get the answer! Have fun getting to know these California comedians with a visit to Pacific Preserve! For five dollars you’ll have the chance to feed these famously fun animals. Participants will have the opportunity to toss fish to our seals and sea lions from the public area of the outdoor pool. No reservations are required, and participation is available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Meet a Pinniped ($)
11:30AM & 1:30PM

During your visit, don’t miss an opportunity for a unique encounter you’ll never forget – the unique opportunity to get up close and personal with one of our seals or sea lions! This fifteen minute session gives you a behind the scenes look at the care and training our marine mammals, as well as the opportunity to receive a big salty kiss from one of our animals! Reservations are required, and limited space is available. Reservations can be made by calling (716)-285-3575 extension 214.
